DO NOT GET STONEHENGE AQUA COLOR PRESS.
That is something completely different. If you can’t find Stonehenge, look for Strathmore Artagain. (Dick Blick has both papers listed.)

Other Supplies
Fine point pen (like a Frixion Clicker pen) or 4H hard pencil, Saral white transfer paper, (you can use the regular white transfer paper but the Saral is REALLY nice to remove on the black paper), sturdy support, large soft brush to sweep away debris, kneaded eraser, handheld sharpener, a White Neocolor II water soluble wax pastel google has this or at Dick Blick or one of the online stores. It looks like a crayon. Neocolor I permanent wax pastel will also work. Krylon Gallery Series UV Archival Varnish
(for colored pencil) gloss or semi-gloss.

There are many options to choose from and they all work the same way.

  • I used to use Easy Float by DecoArt and water (1:1) but it has been discontinued.
  • I have been using Medium by Unique Glass and which is part of Margot Clark’s Mudding supplies. Available at Margot A. Clark, Inc (margotclark.com) and other retail and online stores.
  • I have also been using DecoArt Traditions Glazing Medium and water (1:2).

1/2″ oval mop (optional), 1/4″ oval mop, 3/8″, 1/4” and 1/8″ filbert grainer, #1 round, #1 liner, 1/4″ and 1/8” lunar blender, #6 and #2 filbert,
#2-pointed filbert (optional)

Fabulous Fur Medium **, shop towels, styro-foam tray, palette knife, cosmetic sponge **Fabulous Fur Medium (FFM) –This is used in light colors to achieve correct consistency of paint for painting with the filbert grainer.

HOOT will be hosting Lydia for a 6-hour acrylic painting class. Class is on July 14, from 10 am to 5 pm (EDT). This class will be originating from Lydia’s studio and taught via ZOOM.


All students are invited to come to the HOOT office to enjoy the fellowship of other members and guests to paint with Lydia via ZOOM.


Class Fee for Zoom Class:
Members $10.00
Non-Members: $25.00


Students who come to HOOT office will be provided paints for the class and all other items will be provided by the students.
